Paul Glasswell Joins Pacers in Annual Run
Managing Director of East Anglia's leading home furnishing stores, Glasswells joined other runners in the St Edmunds Pacers running race at Nowton Park, Bury St. Edmunds last Friday.
The race, sponsored by Glasswells, is an annual event and started at 7pm with a 1 mile children's race around the attractive Nowton Park on the outskirts of Bury St. Edmunds. Some 93 juniors lined up and were eager to get going. The under 9's race was won by Alfie Owen-Jones, the under 11's race was won by Thomas McCarthy and the under 15's race was won by Jake McCarthy - well done to all junior runners.
This was followed by a more challenging 5 mile race for adults with 360 budding runners including Paul Glasswell. Competitors ranged from the members of the St Edmunds Pacers Running Club to complete amateurs. Terry Glasswell started both races representing the home furnishings stores, after a few words the runners were off... Paul Glasswell, a complete novice runner, finished in a respectable place three quarters of the way down the list. The winner was Kevin Murphy, congratulations.
