Get Your Skates on for Charity

A furniture store is not the usual place you would expect to find an ice rink however, Glasswells World of Furniture in Bury St. Edmunds are holding a Christmas Ice Spectacular this weekend, all for charity.

Glasswells World of Furniture Christmas Ice Spectacular

The ice rink will be inside the store and is open to anyone throughout Saturday and Sunday, just turn up and you can have a skate in the warmth of the store for just a small fee, proceeds will go to charity. Plus all skaters can enter a draw to win four free tickets to see Cinderella at the Theatre Royal in Bury.

With a Christmas, wintry theme, there will also be a guest appearance from Santa himself, he will arrive at the store at 11am on Saturday and would love to have a group of children to cheer him along at this busy time of year. The children can tell Santa what they would like for Christmas and receive a badge to commemorate the occasion. For those that are a little shy, there is a postbox where they can post their letters to Santa and receive a guaranteed reply.

Entertainment will be in the form of music and The Salvation Army on Saturday and the Lakenheath Silver Band on Sunday. Mince pies will also be on sale, a donation from each will go to charity. In addition there will be extra savings off items throughout the store including the Gift Shop, the perfect place to start your Christmas shopping.

Paul Glasswell, Glasswells Managing Director comments, “The weekend promises to be full of wintry fun, and we are looking forward to raising lots of money. The charities that will benefit are the local St Nicholas Hospice and The Salvation Army. Everyone is invited to come along and join in the festivities.”

Come along, put your skates on and join in the fun at Glasswells, along Newmarket Road in Bury St. Edmunds this weekend.
