Glasswells Extension Work Starts
Building works have started on the new extension to the Glasswells Storage and Distribution Centre in Kempson Way, Bury St. Edmunds. Due for completion in July this year, the 10,000 sq ft extension will lead to numerous benefits for Glasswells and their customers. |
The primary objective for the company is creating extra space to support their new £5 furniture store on the outskirts of Ipswich, due to open by the end of 2008. This new outlet will mimic their highly successful flagship store along Newmarket Road in Bury and will reply on the support of the centre to store items for all departments and prepare them for customer delivery.
Glasswells’ storage customers, both commercial and individuals, will also be able to take advantage of the larger facilities, with more short and long-term solutions to suit all requirements; everything from archiving and major contracts to entire household contents, plus other general household items.
In addition, the extra space will allow Glasswells to prepare for other future changes, such as developing their Internet activity to incorporate buy on-line facilities; an area of the business where effective packing and dispatch services are essential.
Paul Glasswell, managing director comments, “The Storage & Distribution Centre is the true hub of all Glasswells’ activities, serviced by our fleet of 14 vehicles. We have invested a lot in the centre from when it first opened in 1999, with temperature and moisture control and the very latest security devices. Our current investment is the result of our forward thinking which, we feel, will meet the future needs of all Glasswells’ businesses and provide an enhanced service to our valued customers.”
