Glasswells Generosity Blooms as they Celebrate another Special Achievement
Becoming the largest home furnishings store in East Anglia is certainly a triumph to remember and Glasswells World of Furniture in Bury St. Edmunds are celebrating this special occasion.
It is some 15 years since Glasswells became the largest home furnishings store in East Anglia, when the management team made the decision to relocate from their town centre Brentgovel Street and St Andrew’s Street shops to a more convenient out of town location. Glasswells World of Furniture was born, transforming them into the largest home furnishings store in East Anglia.
To celebrate this occasion Glasswells are holding a huge birthday party on the weekend starting on the 28th September at the World of Furniture and they invite everyone to come along. There are treats for everyone with massive discounts of up to 50% on hundreds of products across the store, plus music from a roaming jazz band. For the children there is entertainment galore with juggling, face painting and amusing magic tricks. However, the climax of the weekend is the chance to win a massive £1,000 to spend in store. Entry is free to all visitors to any of the Glasswells stores throughout the weekend. The winner will be announced and contacted mid October, notification will also be on the Glasswells website (www.glasswells.co.uk) and displayed in each store.
Before 1992 the World of Furniture site was a tractor distribution depot, the Glasswells family pinpointed it as the perfect spot for their new store for many reasons. As well as being situated on one of the main routes into Bury and very close to the important A14 route, there was ample space for car parking and the physical size of the plot provided masses of potential for further expansion. The store was refurbished and the new Glasswells World of Furniture opened in just ten weeks, three years later the store was extended again, creating even more space for more departments and again in 2002 where the atrium was created plus a substantial new restaurant.
Glasswells are proud of their history and their success.
